Emo – the genre that never was

Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90’s Screamo scene. What is known by „Midwest Emo” is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo… stop. What if I told you no music is real emo and most bands known as such has refused the term? We’ll take a deep dive into the history of whatever is known as emo and its musical influences, including Nirvana and The Smiths.
